We’re excited to share we received a $500 Spark Good local grant from our local Walmart Supercenter in Sterling. This grant will help with the purchase of frozen meat and other staple food items for our food pantry. We are here to serve our neighbors in need in the Whiteside County community. We are proud to spark good in our community!

FAMILIES HELPED IN APRIL
“I don’t know if you can help me, but my hours were cutback at my job and I need help with my utility bills. I have a wife and three children and I want to provide for them but I need some help. I was told that you are a food pantry and also help financially, so that’s why I’m calling. Please call me back”, said a voice quivering with desperation. Thank you for donating to St. Vincent de Paul Society. Your generosity really does make a difference in someone’s life.

APRIL QUOTE
Faith is believing BEFORE what will only make sense AFTER.
FAMILIES HELPED IN MARCH
God doesn’t just say “remember the poor,” or “pray for the poor,” though both of those things are good and important. He calls us, His hands and feet in a hurting world, to actually DO SOMETHING. And, not that we should ever give to get, but God promises to reward us when we do—how kind of our Father. Thank you for your generosity to St. Vincent de Paul Society.

FAMILIES HELPED IN FEBRUARY
As the Apostle John explains, “whoever does not have a brother or sister whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” We love our neighbor in part because we can see him – he is the hungry one, the thirsty one, the stranger, the prisoner, the sick. They are standing right over there, outside the window, shivering in the cold. Giving to St. Vincent de Paul Society exhibits our love of God and neighbor and helps those who are reaching out to us asking for our help.
Families given food in February: 592 (1,274 adults and 718 children, total 1,992 individuals)
