Students from Newman Central Catholic High School dropped off a huge amount of food which was the result of a food drive the school held to show their support of the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. The food drive is an annual event that the high school students hold to show their support in helping the needy in our community. A big thank you to all those at Newman who participated in this annual food drive event. You are making a difference in the lives of many who will benefit from your generous food donation.

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.

Every small gesture of generosity can make a difference and by relying on God, even the most difficult challenges can be overcome. We are truly grateful for your generosity to St. Vincent de Paul Society. You make it possible for us to help our neighbors in need. God bless you! Gracious God, thank you for the cherished gifts of grandparents and grandchildren, together blessed – loving with love overflowing, side by side or in reminiscence. Thank You for everyday moments: old-fashioned mints in the candy jar, a stuffed toy hugged after its mend, muddy sneakers at the frog pond, favorite stories read before bed. With thanks, I bring to You this prayer for all grandparents and grandchildren, their hearts reflecting Your delight, glad to share the ways they see things, assured of preciousness in Your sight. Amen.

The poor, when viewed with eyes of faith, take the place of Christ and so give us the opportunity to love and serve Jesus. Thank you for supporting St. Vincent de Paul Society with your generous donations, thus loving and serving Jesus. God bless you!

Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.

Whatever we do for the least of these, we do for Christ Himself. Or, as Servant of God Dorothy Day once put it, “I really love God as much as I love the person I love the least.” Who do I love the least, and how can I love them more? Don’t whine, but shine, for every trial doesn’t come to stay. They come to pass.

When I was hurt and needed medical attention, you provided gasoline so I could get to my doctor.

When I was out of my prescription, you met me at the pharmacy and paid for it.

When I wasn’t sure there was enough food to feed my family, the pantry was there to give me food.
